Several organisations here in County Durham have partnered with The Good Things Foundation to offer free data SIM cards to low-income households and you can too. SIMs can be activated for 6 months and the offer varies from 20gb of data to 40gb, and some also provide free calls and texts.
The initiative called the National Databank provides these SIMs to people in need via Good Things Foundation’s network of local community partners. Think of it like a ‘food bank’ but for internet connectivity data.
To register as a databank through the national digital inclusion network, and to find out more about the Good Things Foundation see the National Databank – Good Things Foundation.
Applications are re-opened monthly and it’s free to join, so what are you waiting for?
